DollarsTime to Save Money!

As the weather is cooling off, football is back, and the holidays are fast approaching. If your anything like us your probably trying to figure out where the year has gone. Good Question! Though we may not have the answer to many of life’s questions we do have a few tips to make sure you save some money this season.

 1.Cover all bare floors.

Placing rugs on your bare floors adds comfort and heat retention, especially if there is little or no floor insulation.

2. Limit space heater use

Though great for warming up the bathroom in the morning, or keeping your feet warm in the living room, they really rack up the electric bill.

3. Change your air filter

Most of us are already in the habit of doing this anyways, just a reminder to change the filter every month. Not only does it freshen the air in your home but it allows your unit to work more efficiently.

4. Be sure to turn everything off when leaving home

Many of us are guilty of this, we leave a light on, forget to turn off the computer monitors, and in some cases the ladies forget to turn off their hair straighteners. Though it doesn’t seem like much, it adds up by the end of the year.

5. Reduce your water heater temperature

Dropping your water heater from 140 degrees down to 120 degrees will save you money while  keeping the water hot enough for showers, dishes, and laundry.
