Homeowner’s Insurance Coverage Forms

Luxury KitchenHO3 (Special Form) – This is the most common coverage form used for single-family homes. The policy provides “all risk” coverage on the home and contents are covered on a named perils basis. The term “all perils” is essentially a named exclusion form, this means if it’s not specifically excluded it’s covered.

HO5 (Open Perils Form)- Also commonly referred to as a comprehensive form, this policy covers contents on an open perils basis. Unlike an HO3 where contents are covered on a named peril basis this form will extend coverage unless specifically excluded in the policy.

HO8 (Historic Property Form) – This basic form of coverage is designed for situations in which the replacement cost of a home may be substantially higher than its market value, or where the restoration costs using antiquated materials and methods exceed current methods.
